We read another chapter of The Gutenberg Elegies for English 101 this week, and Mr. Birkerts has done it again: made me want to punch him in the face. This week's ENG101 reading was from a book called The Gutenberg Elegies: The Fate of Reading in an Electronic Age. The author, Sven Birkerts, is a literary critic, but first and foremost a lover of books and reading in general. So, my English class this semester is focusing on the interactions between technology and reading/writing. My professor has this concept called "wreading" to apply to things we read online, because oftentimes you comment on them or edit them (as in a wiki), thus intertwining reading and writing even further.
